Where do I find council car park charges?
North Yorkshire Council keeps a searchable car park directory that lists council-managed car parks across the county, grouped by the former district areas (Craven, Hambleton, Harrogate, Richmondshire, Ryedale, Scarborough and Selby). Each car park page gives charges, payment methods, space counts and whether there is electric vehicle charging. Many are "ticketless": you pay on arrival and enter your vehicle registration.
Charges differ car park by car park, and the council changes them, so the figures below are examples "as published by the council" on the pages linked. Always check the car park's own page before you pay.
Harrogate
The town centre has on-street pay and display split into an inner and an outer zone. The council's on-street parking page lists inner-zone prices from £1.30 for 30 minutes to £7.10 for three hours, and outer-zone prices from £1 for 30 minutes to £6.10 for three hours. Charges and restrictions apply 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sundays. A few short-stay streets allow 20 or 40 minutes.
Two example off-street car parks: the Jubilee multi-storey charges, as published, £2.10 for one hour, £8.20 for four hours and £20.40 for 24 hours, is free for motorcycles and disabled users, and is locked overnight (the page states a £60 fee to release a car after locking). The Odeon car park is open 24 hours, with charges applying from 8am to midnight: £1 for one hour and £10.20 for 24 hours. The council also runs AppyParking for some town centre spaces, described on its parking pages.

Tickets can be bought on the bus or in the East Yorkshire Buses app. After 1 November, check the page for what runs next. The council's park and ride hub also lists a Whitby park and ride.
